Polly is a Master Gardener, certified through Iowa State University, and has well over 20 years of experience in gardening, vegetables, and floral. She also has over 30 years of experience quilting and crafting, creating several heirloom quilts for family and friends, which some have passed these beautifully creative works of art from generation to generation. She also expresses her artistic talents with other creative crafts she offers at the Garden Center. Most enjoyable to Polly is providing classes or assistance to others in hopes that they too can start to enjoy gardening and crafting as much as she does. Polly has established a quilting group in the city of Stanhope that has operated for several years. Extremely active in the community, she volunteers as President of the Stanhope Development Committee, Ambassador for the Veterans Administration, member of the local Stanhope Lions Club, served as a trustee on the Stanhope Library Board, President of Stanhope Library Foundation, several years as Stanhope Library Director and Assistant Librarian, helped organize Stanhope Relay for Life for Hamilton County, and served 9 years in the U.S. Navy as Supply Clerk Petty Officer replenishing our fleets with needed provisions.
